As the Rocket Mortgage Classic gets set to tee off for the fifth consecutive year at Detroit Golf Club from June 27-July 2, the tournament will offer guests a number of enhanced fan experiences. The event will feature unique areas open to all ticketholders, each with its own benefits for fans to enjoy the event in new and exciting ways.
FAN DECKS:
The Rocket Mortgage Classic has two new viewing decks open to all fans for 2023, and now offers a total of six viewing decks throughout the golf course that are accessible without an upgraded ticket – more than any other PGA TOUR event.
The Pitstop presented by Penske Corporation is a new fan deck located at the 17th tee that provides a pitstop for fans to enjoy beverages and generate excitement for the players as they tee off on the par 5 17th hole.
The Birdie Deck presented by Michelob Ultra is also a new addition this year, perched behind the 11th green, where fans can enjoy unparalleled views of holes 11, 12 and 13 with a Michelob ULTRA in hand.
The Treehouse presented by Michelob ULTRA returns for a second year, and offers an even larger viewing deck behind the green at the par-3 fifth hole, also overlooking the seventh green and eighth tee. The Treehouse has been moved closer to the fifth green to provide even better views and create an up-close feel like you’re sitting courtside at a Pistons game or behind home plate at a Tigers game. The Treehouse is one of the best locations at the Rocket Mortgage Classic for watching golf, offering views of nearly every hole on the front nine.
The High Noon Sun Deck overlooks the 17th green and has been expanded to include more public seating for 2023. At the High Noon Sun Deck, adults can relax with a High Noon while they watch players come down the closing stretch at the Detroit Golf Club.
The Craft Cocktail Lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy a Detroit Full Swing signature beverage located above the green at the par-3 ninth hole, also offering views of the first tee.
The Eagle Casino & Sports Lounge is one of the best spots on the entire course to feel the energy and excitement on the back nine, directly in the heart of AREA 313. Raised above the tee at the par-3 15th hole, fans can hope to see a hole-in-one while also watching PGA TOUR pros tee off on the par-4 16th and catching them coming down the stretch on the 18th hole.
ADA accessible fan decks
In addition to viewing locations designated specifically for ADA accessibility on the 16th and 18th holes, many of the other fan decks are ADA accessible, including the Pitstop presented by Penske Corporation, the Birdie Deck presented by Michelob Ultra, the Craft Cocktail Lounge and the Eagle Casino & Sports Lounge.
AREA 313 GROVE AND AREA 313 VILLAGE:
AREA 313 Grove and AREA 313 Village are located in AREA 313, the central gathering place for fans on the back nine and just a short walk from the main entrance. These areas offer plenty of great spots to watch golf, as well as a variety of concessions, picnic tables, restrooms, wi-fi zones and exciting fan activations.
Foodies & Fairways™ presented by Mastercard® and Capital One Business is located in AREA 313 Grove between holes 11 and 14, and will highlight local businesses based just around the corner from Detroit Golf Club in the Livernois Business District. From Wednesday through Sunday, Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles and Good Cakes & Bakes will offer up delicious fare that brings variety to the standard concession offerings.
A new Cobra Puma basketball activation in AREA 313 Village will give fans a chance to work on their jump shots while also checking out exciting new lines of basketball and golf apparel from Puma.
The Rocket Mortgage AREA 313 Fan Challenge provides spectators the chance to feel the excitement of AREA 313 - holes 14, 15 and 16. This activation features a unique golf challenge for each of the three holes in the signature stretch on the tournament course.
The Greyson Wolf Den, located next to the 16th green, offers fans the opportunity to check out the latest and greatest in golf fashion from the Detroit-based company as well as other trendy apparel and accessories from Jones Sports Company and KREWE Eyewear.
FAN SHOP:
The Rocket Mortgage Classic’s Fan Shop is one of the best on the PGA TOUR, and last year was relocated to the main entrance so it is easily accessible as fans enter and exit the grounds.
The Fan Shop offers an incredible variety of items from brands like Detroit-based Greyson, Puma, Eastside Golf, Trap Golf and many more, and fans will find items there that range from traditional to progressive, many highlighting Detroit.
New this year, Dearborn-based Carhartt will be selling Rocket Mortgage Classic-branded apparel in the Fan Shop – a first on the PGA TOUR.
A bag check has been added this year at the main entrance. Tournament merchandise can be checked for free, allowing fans to shop for their favorite Rocket Mortgage Classic-branded items before they sell out and then not have to carry those items around the course for the day. Fans can also check oversized bags or other items that they happen to carry with them to the main entrance that are on the PGA TOUR’s prohibited items list, for a small fee.
DETROIT COMMUNITY DAYS:
Admission and parking for the final round of THE JOHN SHIPPEN National Invitational is complimentary for all fans on Sunday, June 25.

PGA TOUR stars captain each team and are grouped with celebrity athletes and entertainers, players from THE JOHN SHIPPEN National Golf Invitational presented by Rocket Mortgage and corporate partners. Pro Football Hall of Famers Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson, Red Wings All-Star forward Dylan Larkin and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Tom Izzo will be joined by two newcomers to the marquee event – former Michigan basketball and NBA star Chris Webber and WWE Superstar “The Miz.”
